What it is

At Emerald Academy, Full-time Professional Homeschool is a formal, structured, full-time programme delivered on campus by our teachers. It is designed for families who want a learning experience that is more personalised and flexible, while still maintaining clear academic standards, accountability, and routine.

This is not home-based homeschooling and it is not parent-led instruction. It is a full-time school programme under Emerald Academy’s care.

Our Full-time Professional Homeschool programme serves both Primary and Secondary learners.

Primary
Standard 1 to Standard 7
Follows the Botswana Primary curriculum.

Secondary
Form 1 to Form 4
Follows the Cambridge IGCSE and O Level pathway.

Assessment, Reporting and Learning

How learners are assessed

Assessment depends on level, but full-time learners are supported through continuous assessments, topic tests, and mock examinations aligned with the standards relevant to their stage. Termly academic reports are issued to track progress and communicate performance clearly to families.

Structured, but more personal

Our model allows learners to benefit from strong structure and academic guidance while also experiencing more individual attention, smaller learning settings, and an environment that feels more personal and supportive.

A fuller school experience

Emerald Academy’s full-time programme is not limited to classroom instruction alone. We believe learners should also be given opportunities to grow in confidence, expression, teamwork, leadership, and creativity. For that reason, the Full-time Professional Homeschool programme includes a range of co-curricular activities that contribute to more holistic development.

These include activities such as football, table tennis, chess, drama, pageantry, music, poetry, spelling bee, debate, maths and science club, and business fair participation. These opportunities help learners develop beyond academics while still remaining within a structured and values-driven environment.

This part of the Emerald experience matters because education should not only prepare students to pass examinations. It should also help shape confidence, communication, discipline, creativity, and a sense of purpose. That broader development fits the institution’s vision of raising learners who are both academically excellent and morally grounded.
